| NEWS Cheney said he 'probably' used profanity against Halliburton critic

WASHINGTON, June 25 (HalliburtonWatch.org) - As criticism of Halliburton continues to intensify, Vice President Richard Cheney lashed out on the Senate floor against one of his most vocal critics. The vice president reportedly said "Go [expletive] yourself" after Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT), a leading critic of Cheney and Halliburton, greeted him Tuesday on the Senate floor. During a Fox News interview today, Cheney said Leahy "had challenged my integrity [regarding Halliburton]. I didn't like that." He added, "I expressed my unhappiness in the way he [Leahy] conducted himself." Cheney has faced a barrage of criticism for his continued relationship with Halliburton, which is embroiled in numerous criminal fraud and bribery investigations throughout the world. Cheney would not confirm or deny whether he used profanity against Sen. Leahy, but he did say he "probably" used profanity. Last week, Cheney had stated that he "probably" knows about secret information tying Saddam Hussein to al-Qaeda, but he refused to elaborate. |
