| Iraq oil pipelines repaired by Halliburton are shut down again

WASHINGTON, Aug. 14 (HalliburtonWatch.org) -- The interim Iraqi government shut down its main oil pipeline because of threats to oil installations, an oil official said. "The situation in Basra is bad. Management ordered the pipeline shut late yesterday," an unidentified official told Reuters. Halliburton holds an exclusive U.S. contract, worth $1.2 billion, to repair Iraq's southern oil fields and pipelines sabotaged by Iraqi resistance fighters. |
